Why hire Alexander W. Torvi to serve our district?

When we hire someone to represent our community at the State Capitol, we expect them to work diligently on our behalf. Our current representative cannot even be counted on to be present: Jacob Rosecrants shows up for some bills, but then literally leaves the house floor to purposely avoid voting for "tougher" bills because he is a calculated politician who is more concerned about his reelection than representing you and me.

Alex Torvi shows up every day for work. He will be present to vote on all bills that come before him, unless a dire family emergency occurs.

Enough of Rep. Rosecrants failed leadership and misplaced priorities. It's time for change. It's time for Alex Torvi.

See where the candidates stand on the issues below:

Alexander Torvi wants to trim the fat and fight inflation—specifically by working to keep property taxes low at the state level.

Torvi also understands the crucial role of oil and gas in Oklahoma's economy and global energy landscape. He will actively work to support policies that foster growth, encourage innovation, and maintain responsible environmental stewardship in the oil and gas industry.

While some House Democrats have been working with the Republican majority to address inflation, Rosecrants refuses to prioritize our community's needs over partisan politics. He voted against reducing state income taxes (HB1002).

He also voted against eliminating the franchise tax (HB1039).

ECONOMY

Alexander Torvi believes that teacher pay must be at a competitive level with surrounding states to retain our educators.

House Republicans have leaned on “performance-based pay.” As a business owner, Torvi knows that performance bonuses are great—in addition to a good base pay.

Torvi would support competitive teacher pay, funding for the J.D. McCarty Center, and improving the SRO Program.

Rosecrants voted against increased funding for the J.D. McCarty Center for children with developmental disabilities (2023 Appropriations Bill).

He also voted against increased public education funding by $500 million for teacher pay raises, STEM programs, textbooks, and classroom technology (HB2775).

EDUCATION

Torvi recognizes the importance of our law enforcement and Second Amendment Rights to ensure a free and safe society. Torvi would be an advocate for public safety by supporting police and gun rights.

Rosecrants has failed to support our police.

Rosecrants has consistently voted no, or avoided voting for protecting our Second Amendment Rights. The following bills are just from the 2024 Legislative Session:

PUBLIC SAFETY

Torvi knows that property rights are essential to our American way of life. The right to security in our person and our belongings was secured for us by our founders.

Rosecrants avoided voting for a bill to help property owners disperse squatters (SB1994).

PROPERTY RIGHTS

Torvi will vote for legislation that ensures free and fair elections, as that is a hallmark of our democracy.

As a basic law of truth and common sense, a "woman" is easily defined as an adult human female. Women's rights ought to be protected and not violated by emotions or beliefs of biological men.

Torvi believes minors ought to be protected, not experiments of the divisive culture wars. Leave our kids out of it.

Torvi will never leave our veterans behind, especially veterans in our own district.

Rosecrants voted against increasing Election Integrity numerous times.

Rosecrants voted against the Women’s Bill of Rights (HB1449).

Rosecrants voted against prohibiting sex change procedures for minors (SB613).

Rosecrants voted against increased funding for the Veterans Center (2023 Appropriations Bill)
